(so sometimes you have to wait a while), high quality. Good
source of basics. Some pants, dresses, and shirts are available
in petite and/or tall sizes. Some folks feel they aren't
sufficiently responsive to supersize needs; other folks think
they do a good job. They use large models. Pretty colors. They
have their own size chart. Their clothes seem to be long enough
for tall women. "Their leggings are the most comfortable
garments I've ever worn, in a very soft cotton-lycra mix which
does not seem to be available anywhere else. They are receptive
to customer comments." One person said that the environmentally
friendly dyes are not color-fast, but another had no problem
with clothing fading quickly.

Each season they put out a catalog with a selection of fabrics
and a selection of separates. You can get most separates in any
fabric and specify inseam, length; sleeve length; neckline type,
and so on. For my taste, the separates fabrics tend too much
toward polyester and rayon and busy prints. One person writes:
"I love their sizing--42" to 50" busts are small!" but complains
they don't have much of a selection of petite sizes. They also
carry shorts, stirrups, leggings, sweaters. Sizes 1X-8X. They do
custom work with a one-time $10 pattern fee. Good quality. Good

As of spring 97, Silhouettes offers some items in sizes up to
34. Some petites. Pricey, but good variety of stylish, young
clothes. They often have items on back order, and the back orders
take from 3 weeks to 3 months to fill. Service is reported to
be prompt other than that. If you're in a hurry, this is probably
not a great place to order from. They use thin models. There
have been several complaints about their use of poor quality
fabrics and clothing arriving with tears, stains, etc.
